The first appointment with the physician
The first appointment with Dr. Ioannidis will either be at the Gonimotis fertility clinic at Kolonaki or the Assisted Reproduction Unit of MITERA Maternity Hospital. The physician’s main concern is the personalization of therapies, so it is necessary to provide as much information as you can regarding your medical history, such as: hormonal examinations, salpingography, semen analysis, medical reports or surgery DVD (laparoscopy, hysteroscopy) and medical reports or embryos from previous IVF cycles.
When calling the secretariat, you will have to state that it is a fertility-related appointment in order to plan sufficient time (about one hour) to take your full medical history and perform your complete clinical examination via transvaginal ultrasound, take samples for culture or anything else that is deemed necessary.
The physician will consider all the data that may be related to infertility, discuss with you the possible causes and suggest the appropriate treatment approach.
After your first appointment you will:
- have a clear plan for further tests that may be needed,
- know why the doctor recommends the above tests,
- know what your success rates are to achieve pregnancy,
- know what to do next, so that you we will have achieve pregnancy as soon as possible.
