Fertility following contraception
If you have used oral contraceptives or recently removed an intra-uterine device( IUD), it is important to wait for a complete natural cycle before you start trying to get pregnant.
The use of contraception for any length of time does not cause infertility. However, if the woman’s period is irregular after stopping contraceptives, you should consult your gynecologist.
Even before stopping contraception make sure that:
Take folic acid 500mcg every day
Consult your gynecologist for a full prenatal check
Take Pap smear test
Commit to a healthier lifestyle
Stop smoking and drinking alcohol
