Diagnostic laparoscopy
Diagnostic laparoscopy is a valuable tool in the- hands of gynecologist. All women who are investigated for infertility and no cause has been established, or the women who have had 1-2 failed IVF cycles should undergo diagnostic laparoscopy.
This surgical examination will rule out gynecological diseases that cause infertility. These include endometriosis, pelvic and gynecologic organ inflammation, ovarian cysts, obstructed fallopian tubes or hydrosalpinx, uterine fibroids, and others.
It is performed with two small incisions half to one centimeter in the woman’s abdomen, through which one enters the special camera which gives a magnified and high resolution image for the diagnosis of all these conditions and the other endoscopic tool that facilitates precision manipulations.
The woman exits the hospital the same day or the next day, depending on the findings.
